- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (for filling)
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (for filling)
- 1/3 cup heavy cream (for icing)
- 4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature, for icing)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup (for icing)
- 4 tbsp butter (at room temperature, for icing)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract, for icing)
Instructions
- Warm milk in a mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast with sugar; let it froth.
- Combine melted butter, egg, vanilla, and pumpkin puree with yeast mixture.
- In another bowl, mix flour, sugars, spices, and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients to form dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth; let rise covered until doubled in size.
- Prepare filling by mixing softened butter with sugars and spices.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly; roll tightly and slice into nine pieces.
- Place in greased baking dish; let rise again before baking at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
- Make icing by beating cream cheese with heavy cream, maple syrup, powdered sugar until creamy.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls before serving.
