- 25 g butter (for caramel sauce)
- 100 g heavy cream (for caramel sauce)

- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground all spice
- 100 g dark brown sugar
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- 2. In a saucepan, combine 90 g granulated sugar and 1 tbsp water for the caramel sauce; cook until amber, then whisk in butter, cream, and salt. Set aside.
- 3. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice in one bowl.
- 4. In another bowl, combine vegetable oil, sugars, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients and fold in grated apples.
- 5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling.
- 6. For frosting, beat room temperature butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar and mix in caramel sauce.
- 7. Frost the cooled cake evenly with buttercream and drizzle with remaining caramel sauce.
