  • 6 pounds St. Louis-style beef spareribs or baby back ribs
  • 3 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 24 ounces BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your slow cooker by spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Remove any silver membrane from the ribs if present.
  3. Mix smoked paprika, brown sugar, kosher salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl, then rub it evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Brush BBQ sauce on both sides of the ribs and place them upright in the slow cooker.
  5. Pour any remaining BBQ sauce over the ribs and drizzle with apple cider vinegar if desired.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours until fork-tender.
