- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp allspice
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup salted caramel sauce
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned whole rolled oats
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup cold, salted butter
- 1 egg
- coarse sugar
Instructions
- Make the pie dough by combining flour, salt, sugar, and cold butter until crumbly. Add ice water until dough forms; refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Prepare the caramel sauce by cooking sugar until golden, then adding butter and cream; reserve some for topping.
- Roll out the chilled dough in a pie pan and freeze for 15 minutes.
- For the filling, mix sliced apples with sugars and spices in a bowl; stir in reserved caramel.
- Create the crumble topping by mixing oats, flour, brown sugar, spices, and cold butter until crumbly.
- Assemble by filling the crust with apple mixture and covering with crumble; bake at 400°F for 45-55 minutes.
