  • 4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 3 medium jalapeños (seeded and finely diced)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded Monterey jack cheese, cream cheese, diced jalapeños, and mix until well-blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and water; in another dish, combine flour with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll small portions of the cheese mixture into balls. Dredge each ball in flour, dip in egg mixture, then roll in bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder and cayenne pepper.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the bites until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes). Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
