- 1 kg beef mince
- 35 g salt-reduced French onion soup mix
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp beef broth (as a substitute for Worcestershire sauce)
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 3 sheets puff pastry, defrosted
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mince, French onion soup mix, tomato ketchup, beef broth, and Dijon mustard. Season with pepper to taste.
- Cut each sheet of puff pastry in half and shape a portion of the beef mixture into a log along the length of each pastry half.
- Whisk together the egg and milk; brush this mixture on one side of each pastry where it will be sealed.
- Roll the pastry over the beef mixture, pressing firmly to seal edges. Brush the top with more egg wash for color.
- Cut each log into 6 or 8 pieces and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
