  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 35 g salt-reduced French onion soup mix
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp beef broth (as a substitute for Worcestershire sauce)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 sheets puff pastry, defrosted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the beef mince, French onion soup mix, tomato ketchup, beef broth, and Dijon mustard. Season with pepper to taste.
  3. Cut each sheet of puff pastry in half and shape a portion of the beef mixture into a log along the length of each pastry half.
  4. Whisk together the egg and milk; brush this mixture on one side of each pastry where it will be sealed.
  5. Roll the pastry over the beef mixture, pressing firmly to seal edges. Brush the top with more egg wash for color.
  6. Cut each log into 6 or 8 pieces and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  7. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
